The spring has arrived! / La Primavera llego!
The
weather –(heat)- just let us know, and also to the Cherry
trees, which decide to blossom a little sooner that was expected. With this
the city is just full of local people and tourist trying to get the perfect picture to
capture the beauty of the landscape.
El clima (el calor) nos ha dejado saber que llego la primavera, y tambien los arboles de Cerezas, que han florecido un poco antes de lo anticipado. Y con esto la ciudad se ha llenado de locales y turistas buscando la foto perfecta que permita capturar la belleza de la vista.
The Cherry Blossom are the stars right now. These trees had their origin in Japan and were bring to the US a gift of
friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan were the flowering cherry tree, or "Sakura," is an exalted
flowering plant.
Los arboles de Cerezas y sus flores son las estrellas ahora. Estos arboles tienen su origen en Japon y fueron traidos a los EU como una muestra de amistad para la gente de EU por parte de la gente de Japon en donde un arbol de cerezas floreciendo -conocido como Sakura- es una planta con prestigio.
In Japan, the “Hanami” is the old practice of picnicking under a blooming sakura and its a practice
that came with the trees to the US. The custom started during the Nara Period
(710–794) and was originally limited to the elite of the Imperial Court, but
soon spread to samurai society and, by the Edo period, to the common people as
well. Under the sakura trees, people had lunch and drank sake in cheerful
feasts.
En Japon el "Hanami" es la vieja practica de comer debajo de uno de estos arboles sakura y es una practica que llego a EU junto con los arboles. Esta costumbre comenzo en el periodo Nara (710-794) y originalmente esta limitada para los miembros de la elite Imperial, pero que rapidamente se disperso entre la sociedad samurai y para el periodo Edo, a toda la poblacion. Debajo de estos arboles, la gente come su almuerzo y bebe sake en alegres festines.
Japan gave 3,020
cherry blossom trees in 1912, replacing an earlier gift of 2000 trees which
had to be destroyed due to disease in 1910. These trees were planted in Sakura
Park in Manhattan and line the shore of the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. The cherry
blossom trees continue to be a popular tourist attraction (and the subject of
the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival) when they reach full bloom in
early spring.
Japon regalo 3,020 arboles de cerezas como un regalo a los EU en 1912, reemplazando a aquellos que fueron destruidos por enfermedad en 1910. Estos arboles fueron plantados en el parque Sakura en Manhattan y alineados alrededor del Tidal Basin en Washington DC. Estos arboles continuan siendo tan populares para los turistas (y el motivo de su Festival Anual ) cuando alcanzan su afloramiento al inicio de la primavera.
